Winter Road Trip - Day 1

Finally, the road trip we had planned for long is over. all of us had great fun at both kaikoura and hanmer spring (i guess!?) As i said previously, there r 8 of us goin all together to kaikoura and 4 of us headed to hanmer spring after spending a nite at kaikoura where the other 4 went back to christchurch.

So, on tuesday itself, we woke up early at bout 7am to get ready and get our rented car from the shop at 8am. get bit late due to certain unforeseen reason. anyway, we got a white toyata; 5 seated care for NZD39 per day. it was pretty cheap as the car is quite a new and comfy car. i drove in the city to get the rest on the car and john continued wif the journey to our 1st destination kaikoura. Andrew is not allowed to drive due to his license being kidnapped by his parents! too bad..

The journey lasted for 2 1/2 hours long and everyone was so excited in the car. and becos this is our 1st time doin a trip. lots of photo taken during the journey..all the way til we reached the town.

once we reached Kaikoura town, the 1st thing we smell is SEA and the 1st thing will see is the stunning view of the snow capped mountain which is called Mount lyford if i'm not mistaken and it looks exactly like the photo tat i get from internet. and the view look too beautiful to be real. but it's just right in front of u. after settle down in the hostel we r staying, we heading out to look for food. Had a seafood BBQ lunch at a STALL after seeing seal at the seaside.

And next will be the activity of the day - Horse Trekking which cost us NZD45 each. we drove our way to the farm with horses and get all the stuff ready for our 1st experience of horse riding, The guide - Linda thought us some basic technique of horse riding such as how to get the horse moving, stop, change direction and stuff and there we were on the horse. All the horses walked in line 1 after 1, and we passed by small path which leads us to good scenery and we oso tried crossing river on the horses and tried a lil bit of running! it was fun and 1st experience for horse riding as all the horses basically know wad to do and we dun haf to do much on them :)

After horse trekking, it's already bout 4, so we decided to haf fish n chips before we head back to the hostel for some rest. the day ended with a nice dinner at Aroma cafe and some mafia game, a lil bit of drink, movie wif my laptop and everyone fell asleep before the movie end except John. lolz..
