End of Surgery 1

Finally, 5 weeks of surgery is over. no end of run assessment and osce for this run..cos will be having one after my next surgery run :) confused? well, we haf 10 weeks of surgery run all together which is split into 2 with one of them is doin more in gastroenterology stuff and the other 1 is oncology. but the teams tat we will be attached to are boths general surgery team. so...still the old boring surgeries...appendix, gallbladder, colon, thyroid, breast and so on. finally seen a lap chole yesterday..and the gallbladder is huge til the surgeon haf to cut the opening bigger to pull it out :S and after they opened the gall bladder...there are like 30-40 stones inside...apparently the guy have the history of gallstones for 25 years!!!

the previous few weeks are pretty tiring. haf to wake up at around 7 to reach uni at 8am for the ward round..join the team for meeting n stuff...on call day to do admission, procedures and helpin out in the surgery. tiring but cool as well to get involved in the team! finally a good weekend rest but haf reports to write up and haematology test comin real soon. haven been studying much wey..anaemia, leukaemia, lymphoma and more...scary!!

next week will be another integrative week for us! means...no more team, out from the attachment and do something else. and for next week, we'll get to learn some of the clinical stuff likePR, intubation, IV lines and so on gua...quite boring oso but at least it's better than previous 2 when we haf to do some research thingy. and we get long weekend...and since we din do anything last holiday, we decided to go akaroa..a town which is 1 hour drive from christchurch for a french festival next weekend...planning to go on friday for a 2 days 1 nite trip..but most of the backpackers r fully booked for now...so still haf no idea whether we haf somewhere to stay or not =.= so sad! cant stand the indecisive-ness of the ppl.. anyway,guess the festival is goin to be fun!


*6 more weeks to go for our holiday!! and 1 more week after tat i'll be back home! hee..cant wait to go back :P

accommodation at uni flat might not be available for us anymore. miscommunication..might need to get on our own. good seniors r goin to give them to juniors! muahahaha
